One step at a time

Well this week has been very encouraging.  I feel a little more confident with my lesson planning abilities!  Although feeling confident about my work, I'm very worried about my presentation.  Everyone knows that I don't like to speak in class, but I especially feel this way when giving presentations.  Although I have this issue as a student, I don't feel this way when I'm in front of my preschool classes.  I have no problem conducting circle time or story time.  But for some reason speaking up in class is hard!  So when it comes time for my presentation, it's going to be hard to get up there and speak in front of the class.  I'm probably going to have a hard time being enthusiastic but just getting up there is a step in the right direction!

Just keep swimming...

I tried to grasp what was expected of us last week and this was so difficult for me.  I kept looking at the standards totally lost not sure how to translate the standard into learning objectives.  I was confused between ADDIE and Ubd, I didn't understand what they had to do with the standards.  I'm thankful for Faye because she has helped me feel less confused.  She broke down the Stage 1 plan for me so it was easier for me to understand.  So thankfully I got through it!   Although I got through stage 1, I'm still worrying about doing the assignment right.  More importantly I'm worried about having to do this as a teacher.  I keep stressing out about the standards... How can I turn these standards into learning objectives that will make sense?  What if I don't cover everything in the standard?  A couple times I have looked at the standard and realized that maybe I'm interpreting the standard wrong.  Because of these feelings I have been doubting my abilities.  It kind of stinks to feel this way.  But I'm not giving up, I'm going to keep trying.

What just happened...

The name of my second blog entry is titled "what just happened" because that's how I felt after last weeks class.  I was very confused and unsure about how to write objectives.  After reading this weeks homework, I've come to the conclusion that I still don't get it.  So, thanks in advance to my classmates and Faye who will hopefully be patient while I continue to learn about writing objectives during our next class!

On a positive note one concept I LOVED from our last class was the "flipped" classroom.  It got me thinking...can a flipped classroom apply to any grade level?

Wow that took a long time...

Who would've thought picking a blog name would be so difficult???  There are just too many possibilities!  Anyway, hello everyone!
